ADD / ADHD

Hyperactive children and children with sensory disturbances – attention deficit disorder (ADD) and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) – are the most commonly seen demanding patients in paediatric practice. Conventional pharmaceutical treatment consists of stimulants such as Ritalin, Concerta, and so on – that is, medicines that fall under narcotics legislation in many countries. Parents are often hesitant to treat their children with this type of medication. In the Swiss ADD / ADHD double-blind study, our research team proved under rigorous scientific conditions that homeopathy is effective in hyperactive children [Eur J Pediatr: 164 (2005): 758-767]. Furthermore, the long-term follow-up of the study participants over five years shows that 75% of all patients can be treated adequately with homeopathy alone, and that prolonged homeopathic treatment reduces the symptom intensity by about 50 percent, even after treatment is stopped.

The determination of the homeopathic remedies is performed mainly with help of the Checklist for Perception Disorders (Download). For concommitant complaints we use the Checklist for Diagnoses and Mainsymptoms (Download)  and the Checklist of reliable Symptoms (Download). Finally, to adequately control the treatment results  patients fill in the Assement Sheet for Perception Disorders (which is essentially the Conners Global Index).
